China has more gold than they admit

Chinese authorities see a greater role for gold in the future international monetary system, or they wouldn’t continue buying such extraordinary amounts of gold. Via London alone, the PBoC has stockpiled 1,000 tonnes of gold since Russia’s foreign exchange assets were ‘frozen’ by the West in early 2022.” Nieuwenhuijs wrote

Gold sees longest rally since 2020

“During the last three days, gold is up over 8% and on pace for its largest three-day move since March 2020,” Bespoke Investment Group said in a note Friday morning. “Before that, you would have to go back to the financial crisis to find the last time it rallied as much in three days.”

“Gold may be catching a bid, but the dollar has floundered,” said Bespoke. “If you were looking for bonds to provide some ballast in your portfolio this week, you didn’t get it with Treasuries.”

Michael Oliver says Gold’s Making All-Time Highs, SILVER To Follow

“I think that once you punch a hole in the stock market… you’re going to have a lot of that money moving,” he predicted, suggesting that a 5-10% drop could trigger a significant shift in investor sentiment, driving capital towards safer havens like gold and silver.

Silver didn’t move with commodities in moved with gold,” he asserted, countering arguments that silver has lost its monetary significance.

US Copper’s updated PEA estimates NPV over $1 billion

Moonlight – Superior project in California

The study envisions a mine life of 14 years, producing 903,000 tonnes of copper, plus 12 million oz. of silver and 63,000 oz. of gold. A majority of the production will come from mining the sulfide mineralization at Moonlight-Superior.

US Copper CEO Stephen Dunn said the PEA, which a culmination of several years of planning, drilling, metallurgical testing and engineering studies, confirms “substantial economic opportunity” at current copper prices that can be realized through the development of a series of open pit mines on the property.

Over a week low on Gold

Gold touched a more than one-week low on Thursday after a U.S. federal court blocked President Donald Trump’s “reciprocal tariffs”, dampening the metal’s safe-haven allure, while a robust dollar further pressured prices of the precious metal.

Spot gold was down 0.5% at $3,273.37 an ounce, as of 0431 GMT, after hitting its lowest since May 20.

But the gold market is still bullish as “longer term outlook suggests a weaker dollar and there’s still likely to be some inflationary pressures near term,” Frappell said.

Spot silver rose 0.6% to $33.19 an ounce, platinum was up 0.6% to $1,080.90 and palladium edged 1.3% higher to $974.69.
