As the Phase 1 drill program continues over the next three to four weeks, our aim is to validate the historic drill results, refine our targeting practices to allow for further follow-up resource development and target depth and down-plunge opportunities in the high-grade zones that we are seeing in the current drilling

“There is incredible demand for physical gold in New York markets,” said Peter Spina, president and founder of gold news and information provider GoldSeek.com., referring to it as a “physical gold rush.”

“Those who are caught short physical metal are looking around and seeing a window closing here,” he said. They’re “desperately seeking physical metal before the price could jump overnight.”

Gold prices above $3000 for the second time

Gold prices scaled a record peak above the crucial $3,000-mark on Tuesday for the second time in a week, as investors sought cover from economic concerns fuelled by U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies.

Spot gold rose 0.2% to $3,006.88 an ounce as of 0525 GMT after hitting a record high of $3,016.92 per ounce earlier in the session.

“Gold is moving higher on account of a weaker dollar and continued tariff uncertainties… With Gold at record highs there is a lot of technical and chart based buying that kicks in since there is no resistance apparent on the charts,” said Marex analyst Edward Meir.

Spot silver firmed 0.1% to $33.85 an ounce, platinum added 0.2% to $1,002.50 and palladium rose 0.4% to $968.96.

Fed’s Hawkish Stance Pressures Gold Prices

Gold prices dipped on Monday as thin holiday trading kept momentum in check. After last week’s sharp decline, gold is attempting to recover but faces resistance between $2607.25 and $2607.35. A breakout above $2629.13 is possible, but traders will need stronger volumes to drive further gains—something unlikely until after the New Year.

Treasury yields edged slightly higher to start the week, with the 10-year yield rising to 4.536% and the 2-year yield ticking up to 4.325%. Yields jumped last week following the Fed’s policy update but eased on Friday after softer-than-expected inflation data. The dollar held steady as markets processed the Fed’s outlook for 2025.
