Peter Krauth: US$40 Silver in 2025?

“I think that given the setup right now, we have decent odds of returning probably — possibly — somewhere to that US$35 level before the middle of the year, and before we reach the end of this year we could probably touch potentially US$40 in silver,” he told the Investing News Network.

B2Gold moving forward with investment of $10m at the Fekola gold complex in Mali

The decision follows a settlement with the Malian Government over its 2023 mining code, which has reduced the risk of disruption.

B2Gold CEO Clive Johnson said: “From a B2Gold perspective, we have seen a reduction in risk since the signing of our settlement agreement.”

“We have expatriate employees that move in and out of the country regularly, including some of the mine management, so there is no reason to think that any detention would ever be contemplated as it relates to B2Gold,” Johnson added.

Gold rally similar to 45 years ago

With tensions running high between historic allies over U.S. tariffs, global trade, and wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, big powers look unlikely to pull together swiftly this time to resolve the issues driving interest in bullion as a haven from risk, analysts say.

The metal’s surge above $3,000 an ounce, driven most recently by U.S. President Donald Trump’s new round of tariffs on trading partners, has been the first time in a long time that geopolitics and economic uncertainty have served as the top factors moving the gold market, HSBC analyst James Steel said.

While the market has this year conquered a series of milestones, one more remains. StoneX analyst Rhona O’Connell noted that gold peaked at $850 in January of 1980, which in dollar terms would equate to $3,486 today.

    Can Silver break $35?

The silver market continues to see a lot of noisy trading, after initially gapping higher, and then dropping. Since then, we have seen a massive number of buyers. Silver is a market that continues to see a lot of volatility.

Ultimately, this is a market where if we can break above the $35 level cleanly, then I think we will go back to the highs and then eventually go much higher than that.
