Everything about buying gold at Costco

Costco offers members an opportunity to purchase one-ounce gold bars in the store, online or via their app. The retailer offers gold bullion bars, 1-ounce bars and coins in different designs. As of February 2025, Costco offers the following gold products:

  • 1 oz. gold bar PAMP Suisse Lady Fortuna Veriscan
  • 1 oz. gold bar Rand Refinery (online only)
  • 2025 1 oz. American Buffalo gold coin
  • 1 oz. gold bar PAMP / Newmont Lady of Liberty (online only)
  • 100-gram gold bar Rand Refinery

Costco’s selection comes from authorized dealers and reputable mints. However, as Costco members are accustomed to, offerings and availability may change.

Costco marks up its cost for gold by roughly 2%. Markup is common practice among gold dealers and retailers, and 2% is on the low end of industry standards.

US Copper’s updated PEA estimates NPV over $1 billion

Moonlight – Superior project in California

The study envisions a mine life of 14 years, producing 903,000 tonnes of copper, plus 12 million oz. of silver and 63,000 oz. of gold. A majority of the production will come from mining the sulfide mineralization at Moonlight-Superior.

US Copper CEO Stephen Dunn said the PEA, which a culmination of several years of planning, drilling, metallurgical testing and engineering studies, confirms “substantial economic opportunity” at current copper prices that can be realized through the development of a series of open pit mines on the property.

    Gold up, Silver steady

Spot gold was up 0.3% at $3,336.33 an ounce, as of 1224 GMT, after falling to a low of $3,301.54 earlier in the session. U.S. gold futures were up 0.1% at $3,357.20.

“Gold found some floor amid dip-buying, though the uptick lacked bullish conviction. Fiscal concerns and Fed rate cut bets are the catalyst for a recovery in the prices,” said Jigar Trivedi, senior commodity analyst at Reliance Securities.

Spot silver was steady at $36.72 per ounce, hovering near a more than 13-year high. Platinum eased 0.1% to $1,218.85, after hitting its highest level since May 2021. Palladium lost 1.4% to $1,059.02.

Clive Thompson says the elite are the ones buying gold

“Over the last 12 months, the value of their reserves or the value of the gold in their reserves was five times the amount by which their reserves increased,” Thompson stated, emphasizing the significant shift in China’s gold holdings.

Thompson also highlighted the unique dynamics of the silver market. “We’ve seen year after year the volume of silver… being produced by the mines going down,” he explained.

Dubai jewelers affected by gold prices

While U.S. tariffs and other factors have added fire to already hot demand for gold as an investment, the impact is different for gold jewellery, according to Andrew Naylor

“In markets like Dubai, this creates a two-fold effect: on one hand, you see stronger interest in gold as a safe-haven asset, on the other, high prices dampen jewellery demand.”

“There are no potential customers nowadays because of the gold prices,” said Fahad Khan, a sales representative at retailer Damas Jewellery.

“Higher gold prices are likely to dampen demand for jewellery, in a classic example of how the best cure for high prices is high prices,” said Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell.
