Largest gold deposit in the world: NASA scientists discovered

NASA scientists estimate that there are almost 20 million tons of gold dissolved in the water of the seas and oceans.

Estimates suggest that nearly 20 million tons of gold are dissolved in seawater. However, the concentration of this metal is extremely dilute across a vast volume of water, making its extraction highly complex.

Copper traded on the London Metal Exchange has jumped 14 per cent this year and reached $US10,046.50 a tonne on Thursday, the highest since October.

“Traders are redirecting the metal from Asia to take advantage of the price premium and skirt any potential tariffs on the metal,” said ANZ senior commodity strategist Daniel Hynes.

“The US copper rush could leave the rest of the world tight on copper if demand picks up more quickly than expected,” said ING commodity strategist Ewa Manthey.

Well, this news happened a couple days ago but it’s still relevant today as things change before we know it!

    News!

Currently in Florida, there is an open House seat in District 1. Trump backed candidate Jimmy Patronis wants the Sunshine State to adopt gold and silver as legal tender and has called for a study on the issue.

“Gold and silver have been trusted assets for thousands of years, and it makes perfect sense to use them as legal tender. I’m launching this study to determine the best way to get it done,” Patronis said in a statement included in a press release earlier this week.

    Additional Info

Currently there are 11 states that use gold and silver coins as legal tender Utah being the first state to do so in 2011. This is a great shift we may see as states are either moving towards it or in talks of doing this. The positive for those who live in these states is the capital gains taxes would be eliminated on sales of gold and silver.

    Cerrado Gold production results

Mark Brennan, CEO and Chairman commented, “While Q2 results were modestly lower than our expectations as the heap leach continues to ramp up to its fully expanded capacity, we continue to be confident in our full year expectations as the underground operations ramp-up in H2/25. Cerrado also continued to progress both the Lagoa Salgada project and the Mont Sorcier projects towards completion of feasibility studies by Q3/2025 and Q1/2026 respectively, which we believe should demonstrate substantial value being unlocked by Cerrado’s development projects.”

B2Gold moving forward with investment of $10m at the Fekola gold complex in Mali

The decision follows a settlement with the Malian Government over its 2023 mining code, which has reduced the risk of disruption.

B2Gold CEO Clive Johnson said: “From a B2Gold perspective, we have seen a reduction in risk since the signing of our settlement agreement.”

“We have expatriate employees that move in and out of the country regularly, including some of the mine management, so there is no reason to think that any detention would ever be contemplated as it relates to B2Gold,” Johnson added.

Bank of England is busier than they’ve been in years

They have been working flat out to do what the Bank describes as “digging out” gold bars for delivery to traders who’ve seized on a rare arbitrage opportunity thrown up by speculation that Donald Trump will impose tariffs on the precious metal, alongside a raft of other imported goods.

The Bank’s vault keepers are busier than they’ve been in years, logistics companies are working overtime, and refineries are booked out for months with orders to recast gold bars from London into a form that can be delivered into the US futures market.

“What’s happening in the London market is a short term logistical thing, but it’s having real consequences,” said John Reade, senior market strategist at the World Gold Council, the industry lobby group. “There’s not as much gold in London as normal, but again, there’s still lots there. And once it can get out from behind the Bank of England, then everything should calm down.”
