Sir Paul McCartney gold and silver coins put up for auction

One gold and four silver pieces are being made available for collectors, the Royal Mint said, and they will be presented through auction via Stack’s Bowers Galleries.

“Each coin available at auction is a testament to the exceptional skills of our craftspeople at the Royal Mint.

“Taking hundreds of hours to produce, the masterworks crafted from gold and silver feature highlights from Paul’s career and his journey to becoming one of Britain’s most successful artists in history.

“The impressive five-kilogram gold coin has also been hand signed by Paul during his Got Back tour at the end of last year – a symbol of his personal seal of approval of this iconic one-of-one piece.”

People can bid for the coins online up until March 19, when the auction ends, with bidding starting at one US dollar.

Chinas Laopu Gold dubbed “Hermes of Gold”

With prices for most of its popular products ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 yuan, Laopu now competes more directly with Western luxury brands such as Tiffany and Cartier.

As rising gold prices in 2024 pushed investors toward bullion and coins and gold jewellery sales in China fell 24.69% to 532.02 tonnes, Laopu twice raised prices on its designer jewellery and trinkets. It again upped prices by 5-12% last month.

But analysts say Laopu is a contender to fully break through the luxury glass ceiling.

“It’s not an imminent threat to global luxury groups because to build a luxury brand takes a long time. You need a story, you need a history, you need the craftsmanship, but it’s possible,” said Jonathan Yan, a principal at consultancy Roland Berger in Shanghai.

Vizsla Silver shares surge on resource

This is an update on the 5 year project possibly longer.

Shares of Vizsla Silver shot up by 12.0% during the morning session, trading at a near 52-week high of $2.76 apiece.

“This update reflects the excellent mineralized continuity that exists at Copala. Reducing the space between drill holes at Copala to 25 metres has resulted in a significantly higher-grade profile in the upper levels of the resource and PEA mine plan,” Vizsla CEO Michael Konnert said in a statement.

Vizsla Resources expands Napoleon with multiple high-grade intercepts at Panuco project, Mexico

News on this topic from October 2020.

Vizsla President and CEO, Michael Konnert, commented: “Recent drilling continues to grow the Napoleon discovery area where the best new intercepts are from the deepest holes completed.  Mineralization has been extended to the south over 50m and is completely open at depth.  The broad intercepts in NP-20-25 and NP-20-27 as well as the internal high-grade veins increase the possibility of both open pit and underground mining scenarios.  The Company’s aggressive exploration program is targeting three vein corridors in the district and it is exciting to see the benefit of systematic drilling around our multiple discoveries, particularly the addition of significantly more mineralization at Napoleon.”
