VIZSLA Silver files updated tech report

Vizsla Silver Corp. (TSX: VZLA) (NYSE: VZLA) (Frankfurt: 0G3) (“Vizsla Silver” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that, further to its news release dated January 6, 2025, it has filed an independent technical report (the “Technical Report”) containing an updated mineral resource estimate on the Company’s Panuco silver-gold project. The Technical Report has an effective date of September 9, 2024, and was prepared in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (“NI 43-101”) by Allan Armitage, Ph. D., P. Geo., Ben Eggers, MAIG, P.Geo., and Henri Gouin, P.Eng.  of SGS Geological Services and Peter Mehrfert, P.Eng., James Millard, P.Geo., Scott Elfen, P.E., and Jonathan Cooper, P.Eng. of Ausenco Engineering Canada ULC.

The Technical Report can be found under the Company’s profile on SEDAR+ (www.sedarplus.ca) and is also available on the Company’s website (www.vizslasilvercorp.com).

Chinas Laopu Gold dubbed “Hermes of Gold”

With prices for most of its popular products ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 yuan, Laopu now competes more directly with Western luxury brands such as Tiffany and Cartier.

As rising gold prices in 2024 pushed investors toward bullion and coins and gold jewellery sales in China fell 24.69% to 532.02 tonnes, Laopu twice raised prices on its designer jewellery and trinkets. It again upped prices by 5-12% last month.

But analysts say Laopu is a contender to fully break through the luxury glass ceiling.

“It’s not an imminent threat to global luxury groups because to build a luxury brand takes a long time. You need a story, you need a history, you need the craftsmanship, but it’s possible,” said Jonathan Yan, a principal at consultancy Roland Berger in Shanghai.

Copper climbs, tariff concerns continue

Benchmark LME copper futures are more than 9% higher so far this year, and Comex copper is 16% higher YTD, with the Comex now trading at a 10%-12% premium over LME, and Morgan Stanley analysts see more room for growth.

“We stay constructive on copper, our preferred base metal,” Morgan Stanley wrote. “Fundamentals and price signals are positive, and inventories are tightening as metal gets pulled to the U.S. Tariffs may bring demand concerns in the future, but for now physical markets continue to tighten.”

Kentucky Considers Bill to Entice Gold and Silver Investors

The bill says, “any aggrieved taxpayer who has had taxes collected from them in any purchase that are exempt under KRS 139.480(37), may maintain an action for a refund on behalf of themselves and others similarly situated, without need to resort to any administrative process, against any person collecting or holding such tax funds, including the Secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet and the Commissioner of the Department of Revenue.”

Copper from Codelco jumped 17% in November

Copper production from Chile’s state-run miner Codelco, the world’s largest producer of the metal, jumped nearly 17% in November, helping to boost overall output of the metal in the mineral-rich nation by some 10%, data from copper commission Cochilco showed on Friday.

Taking Friday’s results into account, Chile’s total production in November was up 9.8% to 486,200 tons, Cochilco said.

Platinum, palladium likely to lag gold and silver again – UBS

Prospects for platinum group metals in 2025 look similar to previous years, UBS says, adding that it expects platinum to outperform palladium , and both to lag gold and silver once again.

The investment bank, meanwhile, has a forecast of a 25% return for silver, with prices trading in a $36-38/oz range.

“Hence, we hold a more nuanced outlook for the overall precious metal sector, with a more attractive risk-reward in gold/silver versus platinum/palladium. Within the platinum group of metals, platinum remains favored over palladium, considering the higher volatility and lower liquidity of the latter,” analysts added.
