Wall Street dips, gold spot falls

“We are witnessing a resilient economy … against a backdrop of geopolitical concerns, and an expectation of some sort of chaos down the road,” said Oliver Pursche, senior vice president at Wealthspire Advisors in New York.

Gold reversed its multi-session rally, which was driven by a risk-off flight to safety that drove the precious metal to a record high.

Spot gold fell 0.3% to $2,856.40 an ounce. U.S. gold futures fell 0.39% to $2,860.50 an ounce.

Silver falls but stays the same

The silver market has been somewhat sideways over the last few weeks, but the Wednesday session could provide enough information to get people moving again.

Silver fell in the early hours of Wednesday as we have tested the crucial $33 level again. This is an area that of course has been like a magnet for price for some time.

Talks between the United States and China are seemingly a thing now, and that, of course, will help the idea of industrial demand for silver, but it takes away that precious metal trade as well.

At 12:34 GMT, XAGUSD is trading $34.29, down $0.46 or -1.34%.

Trump metals tariffs propel gold, China steel under pressure

China, the biggest steel maker, is not a top direct exporter of steel to the U.S. but Trump said that China’s exports had forced others to ship more to the U.S., while rising imports “support a conclusion” of transshipment or processing of steel products via third party countries into the U.S.

“Today is a great day for the U.S. aluminum industry,” said Mark Duffy, president of the APAA.

“Unfair trade practices have devastated the domestic aluminum industry and President Trump’s actions today will protect thousands of American workers and their families.”

US Copper’s updated PEA estimates NPV over $1 billion

Moonlight – Superior project in California

The study envisions a mine life of 14 years, producing 903,000 tonnes of copper, plus 12 million oz. of silver and 63,000 oz. of gold. A majority of the production will come from mining the sulfide mineralization at Moonlight-Superior.

US Copper CEO Stephen Dunn said the PEA, which a culmination of several years of planning, drilling, metallurgical testing and engineering studies, confirms “substantial economic opportunity” at current copper prices that can be realized through the development of a series of open pit mines on the property.
