Zambia says Saudi’s Manara interested in its copper assets

Saudi Arabia’s Manara Minerals is looking for critical minerals projects in Zambia to invest in, the southern African country’s mines minister Paul Kabuswe told Reuters on Thursday.

“They (Manara) are interested, but we do not know which ones yet,” he said on the sidelines of a mining conference in Riyadh, adding that an announcement on a potential mining deal between Zambia and Saudi Arabia is likely this year.

“We no longer want those agreements where we have 10% or 15%,” he said, adding that the government is also holding talks with Barrick Gold, Ivanhoe Mines and Chinese investors on their plans for new projects.

Goldman Sachs forecasts up to 12 month copper prices

Goldman Sachs on Wednesday maintained its London Metal Exchange copper price forecasts for the next year, and said it expected the implementation of U.S. tariffs on copper imports to prevent a U.S. stock glut in the third quarter.

Goldman forecasts three-, six-, and twelve-month LME copper prices at $9,600, $10,000 and $10,700 per metric ton respectively. The bank flagged a near-term downside risk to prices from a trade policy update due to take effect on April 2.

Author Collin Plume predicts spike in silver

“Bitcoin disrupted global finance just a decade ago, now, silver is emerging as the next keystone of global transformation—poised to reshape industries, currencies and geopolitics.”

“With reserves projected to run out in just 20 years, Plume predicts silver’s price could surpass $60 per ounce.”

According to Plume, nonsourced calculations are “showing the U.S. would need over 3.5 billion ounces [109,375 tons] of silver to transition to 100 percent solar power.” The writer and his publisher say this ties into “how China’s dominance in silver production threatens U.S. strategic interests.”
