Central Banks keep gold rally

Central banks are expected to help keep gold’s stunning rally going this year with buying aimed at further diversifying reserves away from the dollar due to risks stemming from U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies.

Spot gold hit its latest record at $3,167.57 a troy ounce on Thursday for a gain of 19% since the start of 2025 and a hefty 71% rise since the end of 2022.

“Emerging market central banks currently hold around 10% of their assets in gold. They should really hold 30% of their assets in gold,” said BofA commodity strategist Michael Widmer.

“From the central banking perspective (uncertainty) means less incentive to add Treasuries into portfolios and more incentive to actually de-dollarise it,” he said.

Gold Horse Minerals drilling identifies gold targets

Considering we only listed on the ASX in December 2024, it is pleasing that we have already reported multiple targets from our geochemical survey, achieved excellent results at the Hakes Find project and now unveiled some exceptional intercepts at Hopes Hill

As the Phase 1 drill program continues over the next three to four weeks, our aim is to validate the historic drill results, refine our targeting practices to allow for further follow-up resource development and target depth and down-plunge opportunities in the high-grade zones that we are seeing in the current drilling

    Kentucky vetos House Bill 2

In a landmark victory for coin dealers, collectors, and investors, the Kentucky General Assembly has overridden Governor Andy Beshear’s veto of House Bill 2, officially enacting a sales-tax exemption for currency, bullion, and coins.

Introduced Jan. 10, 2025, HB 2 passed the House with a 76–17 vote and the Senate with a 30–6 vote earlier this year. The veto override, finalized on March 27 with an 80-19 vote in the House and an 31-6 vote in the Senate, marks the successful conclusion of a year-long effort to protect Kentucky taxpayers.
