Vizsla Silver shares surge on resource

This is an update on the 5 year project possibly longer.

Shares of Vizsla Silver shot up by 12.0% during the morning session, trading at a near 52-week high of $2.76 apiece.

“This update reflects the excellent mineralized continuity that exists at Copala. Reducing the space between drill holes at Copala to 25 metres has resulted in a significantly higher-grade profile in the upper levels of the resource and PEA mine plan,” Vizsla CEO Michael Konnert said in a statement.

Vizsla Resources expands Napoleon with multiple high-grade intercepts at Panuco project, Mexico

News on this topic from October 2020.

Vizsla President and CEO, Michael Konnert, commented: “Recent drilling continues to grow the Napoleon discovery area where the best new intercepts are from the deepest holes completed.  Mineralization has been extended to the south over 50m and is completely open at depth.  The broad intercepts in NP-20-25 and NP-20-27 as well as the internal high-grade veins increase the possibility of both open pit and underground mining scenarios.  The Company’s aggressive exploration program is targeting three vein corridors in the district and it is exciting to see the benefit of systematic drilling around our multiple discoveries, particularly the addition of significantly more mineralization at Napoleon.”

    JP Morgan analyst on gold

After a strong run for precious metals, gold mining shares still look undervalued.

That’s the view from JP Morgan’s latest note on listed producers, which argues there’s room for substantial upside, especially if its bullish forecast for the precious metal proves right.

Its commodities team is pencilling in a price of $4,100 an ounce for 2026. That’s well above current spot levels of $3,320 and would mark a new all-time high.

Based on that estimate, JP Morgan sees around 40–50 per cent upside to average analyst expectations for earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation across the sector.

CEO says Barrick will continue in Mali once they can ship gold

Barrick Gold will resume operations at its shuttered Loulo-Gounkoto mine in Mali once authorities in the country allow it to resume gold shipments, CEO Mark Bristow said on Wednesday.

“We will start the operations as soon as we get approval to ship the gold and we need to ship the gold to pay anything to the government,” Bristow said, adding that Barrick paid $460 million to the Mali government last year.

“So if you calculate that to per week… and every week we don’t do this it hurts everyone,” he added.

“Silver is the most underpriced hard asset on the planet. While gold protects wealth, silver could build it during the next financial reset.”
